Doodlekit System Upgrades Complete!

UpgradeWe've spent the last few weeks upgrading all the software that supports Doodlekit, and it's really paying off. I'll spare you the geek speak, but Doodlekit relies on a number of other software packages to operate, the main being Ruby on Rails. To make sure Doodlekit is running at optimal efficiency we need to make sure we're always running on the latest version.

The performance I'm seeing on the servers is exceeding my expectations and I'm very happy about the results.

I'd like to thank Rob and Adam at Rails Machine, our Rails Hosting provider, for their help on the upgrade. It was a big project and they were very helpful (per usual).

Now for an update about some fun stuff!

We're now working on a big new release with lots of cool new features. It's too early to say much, but we know everyone is going to be really excited about it. Stay tuned!

Hey Vern,

Lots going on right now with the new release. It really is going to be hard to say, but we are hoping within the next few months. Ben and I both are working overtime on it.

Our main concern first is always the up time and performance of the existing system. Fighting spam, fraud, viruses, etc. can sometimes delay our new release development. Higher priority issues often arise that trump work on new development. It's really hard to throw out a solid date this early.

This is great news!

I know how challenging it can be to do a new release, so I will sit back and be patient.

But definitely looking forward to it!
