Artists of America (AOA) is a 501(c)(3) IRS recognized non-profit organization based in Los Angeles. We provide Free Art Classes for Foster Children & At-Risk Youth.

How having a website has affected your business/objectives:

It has brought us more attention, and more creditability. We are more organized, because now we have a great way to disseminate information about our work, and the children we are helping. We look more professional -- there is a tremendous difference between a professionally designed website and an amateur one. I am no longer ashamed to refer people to our website (yes, I was embarrassed before by the website I built).

Lessons learned and advice to others about building and operating their own website:

Sign up for the Premium Package at Doodlekit - it is well worth it! If you are a computer-illiterate, like I am, having a professional design the website and be available thereafter to answer any questions I have, as I fill the pages of the website, is a necessity.
