The New Doodlekit Editor

The New Doodlekit Editor

Perhaps the single most important part of a website builder is its page editor. Ben and I know this, and for that reason we have invested a lot of time and effort trying to do this right. After our initial push of the new editor, there was a lot of feed back from our user community. We accumulated a list of things that needed fixing and then went at it updating our code. In the processes, we realized we would need more than a few changes - we needed a whole new architecture for the editor.

In the fast changing world of web development, more and more tools become available each day. We needed an editor that could accommodate changes easily. An editor that allows us to plugin our own custom widgets when we want and how we want. This new editor does just that.

Below is an album explaining the more advanced features of the editor. Click on it to get a tour of how things work. Hope everyone likes the new changes!

how do you add new users to your website? I can't do everything on it by myself.

4. Ben Kittrell   |   Fri Apr 08, 2011 @ 09:37AM

In the Admin section of your site click "Users". You can add new user accounts there.

Hi every time I try to add users it says "you have reached your user limit"

Sounds like you are on the free plan. Free plans are limited to one user. You will need to upgrade to allow access for more.

HEATH- I am having issues with email forwarding. HUGE problem for my company. Since you guys removed your phone number from this site (why?) I've been trying to contact you with the "contact us" forms but they keep giving me the "something's awry" error. I've been using your system for 3 years and have recommended you to other companies who are now also your clients. I REALLY need to get this solved ASAP... please call me 928-758-4808. Thanks - Terri

I am trying to add a link to a file I've uploaded into add ons. How do I do that? I feel dumb....! :(

20. Ben Kittrell   |   Wed Oct 05, 2011 @ 09:44AM

In the editor, select some text and click the Link button. When the dialog opens up, click "File Library". You can then select your uploaded files.
